Meet Priscilla Smith!

After our long winter break, we are back in business this week to introduce to you yet another great Aloha staff member!

Priscilla Smith, school psychologist

I really appreciate the diversity of the student body and how well the students get along with one another.

Q: What attracted you to working at Aloha High School? In other words, what set AHS apart from other schools?

A: I really appreciate the diversity of the student body and how well the students get along with one another.

Q: What do you like most about coming to work every day?

A: Working with students.

Q: Have you ever lived anywhere else besides Oregon?

A: I lived in Southern California for most of my life. Southern California was very diverse compared to Oregon and there was less rain, but I prefer Oregon because of the beautiful scenery.

Q: What is one word that best describes you?

A: Curious.

Q: Do you have any odd or awesome hobbies or talents you’d like to share?

A: I like to read non-fiction books, mostly autobiographies. I also like to take walks in Oregon’s beautiful nature.

Q: Why did you want to become a school psychologist?

A: To support students and families through challenging situations.

Q: What’s the most fulfilling thing about being a psychologist?

A: Observing student’s growth.

Observing student’s growth is really fufilling as a high school psychologist.

Q: What’s the most amazing thing you’ve ever seen? This can be something in nature, an exchange between students you’ve heard…

A: Machu Picchu in Peru.
